What’s more, once the festival is over you can easily use these outfits as your regular dresses because most of the dresses worn to a festival are casual and not too celebratory.

From cold shoulder blouses to printed rompers to floral maxi skirts, there’s more than enough to choose from if you’re looking for festival gear.

Plus, festival trends seem to also reflect the trends coming up for the summer season which means picking up some festival gear could mean being summer ready before summer even gets here.

Who doesn’t like to be ahead of the fashion game? Plus, if you’re a lover of all things boho, festival styles are ideal for your year around look. Find your ideal festival clothing gear from the dresses mentioned in our list below.

Floral maxi dresses

Super comfortable, long and ideal for the summers, there is nothing that says festival dress quite like a beautiful floral maxi dress. A maxi dress is a floor or ankle length informal dress.

Maxi dresses are form fitting at the top and loose flowing at the bottom, cut to flow over the body. They are usually made out of cotton or polyester and come in a variety of necklines, colors and patterns.

A long flowing dress that makes moms very happy during the summer!  A Maxi dress is easy to throw on, chic and super comfortable.  You can either wear them with flip flops for a casual beach look or dress them up with fun accessories and some summer wedges!

Printed Kimonos

A kimono’s the perfect layer since it won’t weigh you down. While the sun’s still out to play, take your shorts and tan-fit to the next level with a bright and breezy kimono as a layering piece. The addition of a paisley or floral-printed kimono brings a boho touch to your ensemble.

If the festival goes late into the night (which they nowadays do), Transition a casual LBD from day to night. Add a romantic, floral kimono paired with strappy wedges or heels. Then, play with proportions by layering on a duster-length kimono over an above-the-knee dress.

Denim printed shorts

Denim shorts are the ultimate summer go-to look, but midway through the season or on the way to the festival you might have a thought which points out on what to pair along with the denim shorts. Upgrade your favorite bright tee with a weighted pendant or rhinestone bib necklace.

Or, party it up with piles of bangles that deliver a pop of personal style without weighing you down. Balance the rugged, loved-in look of denim shorts with light, ethereal pieces.

This summer, we’re pairing flowing tops and soft details think crochet, eyelet and lace under airy layers that catch the breeze.

Don’t be afraid to mix and match fabrics, just remember to keep it balanced. Look for feminine textures in surprising places like trims, cut-outs and panels to help along the way.

Crochet pullovers

Oversized, easy to carry and laid back in looks, crochet pullovers seem like the ultimate festival season clothing gear. It is among the ladies favorite gear to wear and it is easy to see why.

They can be made in various sizes and can be worn as a layered clothing or as a usual regular go-to single piece of clothing.

The rows of vividly sewn yarns add versatility to this piece of clothing which makes it really effective for the person wearing it to stand away from the crowd from a fashion point of view.

Along with these clothing gears, here are a few tips that will help you last the festival season and actually, not just last but make it a very memorable one.

  • If you want to cover your legs, consider wearing a calf-length dress with a pair of Skimmies underneath it to prevent chafing. There have been many instances where people  saw many women in traditional workout leggings since they’re moisture-wicking and meant for sweat. Also, the above outfit idea is great for not overheating yet covering your legs.
  • If you want to cover your bum, tie a shirt around your waist. You can easily snag  one of your husband’s or boyfriend’s plaid shirts which are both larger and wider than your own, left it unbuttoned, folded in the collar and tied at the smallest part of my waist. This creates an hourglass shape and covers your bum like a gathered skirt. A lightweight cotton, voile, or chambray is best for flow and reducing bulk. It is also a look which is a mix of retro and hippie, which is basically a perfect look for the festivals.
  • If you want to cover your arms, consider a kimono. It is very easy to see women wearing all types of kimonos, from sequined ones that ended at the hip to long printed ones with fringed edges. Some were very sheer, while others were a thicker fabric or a burnout pattern. The thing is, you can hardly put a foot wrong with kimonos these days, more so when you are going nuts at a festival.
  • You should never ever forget to accessorize when attending a festival. Sunglasses are always going to stay a relevant accessory during the festivals. As mentioned above, there is a great and easy way to accessorize your looks by folding a shirt around your waist. Along with that you can wear bands, neck hugging necklaces or straps and you are set for a fun festival for as long as you are there.
  • Music festivals rarely have a lot of shade, and you are often there during the hottest time of the day. In case you are short of sunscreen, your attire can easily come to your aid. A plaid shirt paired with long and comfortable pants accessorized with a bandana or a lovely hat makes for an easy attire to beat the heat. The breezy shirt will cover your arms and back, but not cling with sweat. In case you have a t-shirt underneath it will also be able to soak the sweat (if there are any). A bandana at the throat protects your neck and chest and can also be pulled up to protect your face from the sun and dust. A large-brimmed woven hat offers protection without looking as though you’re ready to go hiking somewhere.
  • There will also be ladies who might be first timers to a festival. They might have succumbed to peer pressure and joined the party, or would have gotten a chance to realize a lifelong ambition and might be looking to fit in. There is a simple way in which you could dress and instantly become a part of the raving crowd at the festival. All you gotta do is have a loose black sleeveless t-shirt that ought to be paired with some long and loose pants (harems are wonderful options here) and a pair of sunglasses to top the look off. You are set.

There are tonnes of looks that you can opt for when attending a festival as there is no compulsory dressing tips that come in here like they do at weddings and other functions.

You can be as eccentric as you want with your dressing sense and no one would bat an eyelid at you for doing that. Stay fresh and ahead of the curve and bring something new to your festival look and you will for sure have a gala time out there under the sun or the evening sky.
